M.C. Richards & Peter Voulkos

In the collaborative nature of the two’s relationship, Volkus and Richards were known for working together in clay, specifically clay pots. At BMC, the two artists only studied with one another for the short period of 3 weeks during the summer session of 1953. The relationship between the artists can be seen in the lasting effects of each artists’ work, overflowing in common styles such as a more organic and whimsical design.
