David Tudor

David Tudor was born in 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. He was an organist, pianist, and composer, and was the music director of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company succeeding John Cage. Tudor attended Black Mountain College in the early 1950s, working with fellow artists such as John Cage and Robert Rauschenberg. He gradually ended his career in piano and engaged himself fully in electronic composition. He was commissioned for many pieces and has had his work featured in places such as the Whitney Museum, NY. He died on August 13, 1996.
